My friends and I had this discussion once: what country, if it should truly disappear, would be most devastating to you?
Besides the Philippines, of course, Japan and Holland would be number one.
I cannot imagine a world without Tokyo. I was able to reach my friend Sayoko's son yesterday and found out that while their store is a complete mess, everyone's OK.
My seven-year-old son Markus was monitoring CNN earlier, worried that the tsunami might destroy the U.S.
"All the toys come from there," he told his Daddy. (No Marky, everything is made in China.)
What country besides your hometown is closest to your heart?
