I was supposed to be at events at 3 PM and 6 PM but I felt too ill to go, so I stayed home and saw this on CNN.
I felt numb and stunned once again, same feeling as I watched CNN on September 11, 2001, when a plane crashed into the second tower of the World Trade Center and when the twin towers leveled to the ground.
Right now I'm relieved my friends in Tokyo are safe and that we were spared from a tsunami.
I'm posting the following for readers in the US and Canada who want to help out:
• Txt REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation to Japan & Pacific tsunami relief
• Text the word ASIA to 30333 to donate $5 or go to www.redcross.ca/helpnow
• Donations to the 2011 Japan Earthquake Disaster Relief Fund can be made at http://www.SalvationArmy.ca/japan
by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY (725-2769)
or via mail to The Salvation Army, 2 Overlea Blvd, Toronto, ON M4H 1P4.
• Donors can also make a $10 donation by texting “QUAKE” to 45678 from most mobile carriers in Canada.
