Catch indie-pop band, The Whitest Boy Alive, this March 12, 2011 at Republiq, on the 2nd level, Newport Mall, Resorts World, Manila. Brought to you by Intercept! with World Wide Womb and House of Soul, with front act, Turbogoth.
Erlend Øye, better known as half of indie-folk duo Kings of Convenience, who brought the house down during their very first Manila show last year, sings again, yielding electric guitars and dancier tunes thanks to his cohorts from Deutschland—Marcin Öz on bass, Sebastian Maschat on drums and Daniel Nentwig on keyboards.
Erlend Øye
All four members are electronica enthusiasts, influenced by techno and house. This time, however, they wanted to “create a band that is able to play music in a way you would program it on a computer,” as keyboardist Daniel put it.
The members acknowledge the origins of dance music, harking back to the way ’70s disco was played, with live instruments and musicians. In simpler terms, TWBA is a little bit pop, a little bit rock, a little bit disco, but completely bound to get you on the dance floor.
The Whitest Boy Alive Live In Manila is presented by ABSOLUT Vodka and in cooperation with Globe Tattoo, Zippo, The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences, Juice.ph, Opus, Café Republiq and Jaguar.
With Media Partners, VELVET, Channel V, Manila Bulletin Lifestyle, The Philippine Star, Business World, UNO, Circuit, Metro, Chalk, Jam 88.3, 105.1 Crossover, UR 105.9, FHM.com.ph, Click the City, and Splintr.com.
Special Thanks to Universal Records, Fred Perry, Route 196, Saguijo and Bistro Filipino by Chef Laudico.
