When I was growing up, one of the things I really enjoyed was going to hotel buffets with my family—usually on special occasions.
Now that I have my own kids, we go to them more often—sometimes when there’s a special deal, something to celebrate, or on weekends when we feel like it.
One of our top three hotel buffets in Manila is Raffles Makati’s Spectrum—first because Raffles is our family’s favorite staycation hotel in Metro Manila, and second because Spectrum has a nice buffet spread that’s not too wide and confusing and has a selection that our Dutch relatives can relate to (read: AFAM friendly).
Last Sunday we were extra excited to go because of the Lego Awesome Sunday Brunch that’s on until March 2015.
Upon entering, a special display of Lego goodies will welcome you at the kitchen window.
At the entrance you’ll see a unique LEGO replica of the Raffles Makati.

I did skip the bread and butter section even though it looked so good
I started instead with a great combination of lechon skin and paella. I love that they didn’t chop the lechon into small pieces babuyan style. You can cut your own skin using the tongs provided.
Here’s the real reason why I love Spectrum—crispy salmon skin rolls!! I’m still thinking about it. I regret not having more

On the second floor, there’s a special Lego play area where kids can join a Lego competition while watching The Lego Movie.
