I regret the fact that I overslept. We got home at 6 AM today after the World Cup, and right now I'm not loving it anymore. I'm glad it happens only every four years because I can't take the suspense and heartache.

Jude came over at night, while Jeroen and Joris left early to go to Heckle & Jeckle on Burgos to reserve seats.

Jude and I left the house at 1 AM with my cousin in law John-D and his sister Ther.
We stopped by the 24-hour McDo at The Fort to wake up because we were all low-batt.
Here's a tip: if you want the best tasting McNuggets, order them hot. You have to wait five minutes, but they're worth it.

Heckle and Jeckle is a Dutch-owned bar on Burgos Street, so it is supposed to be orange territory. But when we got there, there was a gaggle of pokpoks shouting "olé olé" and other Spain fans na gusto kong tirisin! So noisy ha!

Inside was sardinas and mackerel. Jude said, "This is just Ozone waiting to happen."
I prayed many times, as in the whole time that an earthquake or riot would not happen. I also prayed many times for Holland.
But it wasn't meant to be.

As the game progressed I had a bad feeling Spain would win. I couldn't breathe. My heart was pounding. I needed air.
I felt like I was in a plane going through turbulence. So Ther, John-D and I stepped out to watch from the street.

No one was scoring and play was extended. In the end Spain won with a goal by Iniesta.
All the cute Dutch boys trickled out of the bar at sunrise with faces of disappointment.
We hopped in the car, brought everyone home, and went home to see our boys all dressed up for school.
Jeroen entered the bedroom and told me to shut down CNN while the Spaniards celebrated.
Up to now we're not allowed to watch the news okay. He wants to move on.
Jeroen went to bed and I took a sleeping pill because I couldn't take it.
