This October 6, 2010, you're invited to watch Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2011 in a 360° ready-to-wear show on your Facebook, iPad or iPhone.
For the first time ever, a luxury brand invites you to an astounding 360° Fashion Show. More than a front row view, this digital show offers you a full 360° spin around the looks.
The models will be photographed right after the Louis Vuitton Women Spring/Summer 2011 Show simultaneously with 52 cameras, thus turning into motion-responsive images that can be rotated and paused 360°.



The 360° views of the looks will be accessible on Facebook and on your iPhone or iPad at 8:00PM (GMT +2), on October 6th. The show itself will be, as usual, visible on live on the same platforms.

Manila, we’re getting spoiled.
The next big thing opening soon is the Japanese lifestyle/concept store, Muji, at Bonifacio High Street.
The first time I saw a Muji store in Tokyo, mid-’80s, I didn’t get it then. Here were “brandless” clothing, houseware and stationery that didn't quite go with my attention-seeking teenage self.
As I matured and became more practical, I began to appreciate its quiet, minimalist style.
Muji became a must-stop whenever traveling to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore and Tokyo. I can’t even tell you how many Mujis I have at home. Every room has something Muji.

Even though I’ve been to Muji stores a hundred times, I can’t seem to enter one without buying something.
Now, panic-buying at Muji while traveling should be a thing of the past when premier retailer Stores Specialists, Inc. opens its first store on top of the Gap flagship store on Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City.
I'm very excited to style for the opening. Will keep you guys posted and probably bump into you there.

Y'all know how much I love Dove. I use it everyday and can't travel without it.
Sometime ago I left my beloved Dove soap case in Singapore, but a kind reader named Jin located one in the U.S. and sent it to me.



That plastic soap case fits a Dove bar perfectly.
Oh, but one time I was staying at my tita's house in Tokyo (bit of trivia: she lived in Yoko Ono's ancestral home) and found some baby Dove bars in the bathroom. (I took some home.)
Last year I found the baby Dove bars at Rustan's supermarket and hoarded. I found out these are the best things to take when traveling. I take three small bars, even though I usually just use one for a four-day trip. The two are for backup because sometimes the chambermaid will think they are hotel soap and throw them out.
Recently I went to a special Dove luncheon at the Madison Grill where four ladies talked about their seven-day challenge—to wash their face with Dove while avoiding all mirrors, and see what happens.



Personally I cannot avoid mirrors because if I don't fix my face and put makeup, everyday would be Halloween.
Lexi Schulze, Raya Mananquil, Erin Campos, and Mel Lozano reported softer skin after seven days. Because Dove is infused with moisturizers, it's like having a slight coat of lotion after you shower.



Yesterday Dove sent me a carton of baby Dove bars which I would like to share with eight lucky readers.
This is freakin' amazing.



I packed them in eight clear Chinese takeout containers. Each one contains 16 baby Dove bars.

Damn. I took this photo last week at Hong Kong's Star Ferry Terminal, when Jeroen and I went to catch a ferry to Central. I was wondering if it was a ghost ship, but people were roaming inside, with lots of kids.
Jeroen and wished our boys could see it, as they are obsessed with pirates.



Tomorrow, this very same ship will dock at Pier 13, South Harbor, Manila, next to Manila Hotel.
The Galeon Andalucia is a replica of the 17th century Galleon. The 51-meter-long traveling museum created by Spain’s Nao Victoria Foundation makes use of ancient seafaring techniques with very minimal modern technology and virtually no fuel at its disposal.
Guest can hop on-board and jump into history! Admission is free.
Too bad we cannot make it, but here's the viewing schedule:

October 6 — 1:00 pm - 4:00pm
October 7 — 9:00am – 12:00 noon, 1:00 pm - 4:00pm
October 8 — 8:00am – 12:00 noon, 1:00 pm - 4:00pm
October 9 — 8:00am-12:00pm

For large groups and walk ins, it is suggested that you arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled time slot. Late comers will be bumped off their slot
Some walking will be required from the registration to the boat, so you are advised to consider your attire/choice of footwear.

ACTIVITIES
There will be waiting area where guests can view an exhibit, mural paintings and information on the Galleon Trade. Also, there will be a creative trade fair selling indigenous arts and crafts, and items from around the world.

PARKING
There is no ample parking at the pier, however there will be some at Quirino Grandstand!! (Park at your own risk!)

If the media and hotel staff at Sofitel thought Justin Timberlake was just a little bit rude* during his stay his Manila, wait till you hear about John Mayer.

While John Mayer may have been sweet to Georgina Wilson during his concert here, what I heard about the rest of him makes my blood boil.



The American rock star apparently was very rude to hotel and media staff, refused to have his picture taken, and had specific instructions: "If I don't say yes, that means NO."
He managed to trash the Presidential Suite of the Edsa Shang along with his entourage—to the tune of PHP 300,000.
As a lover of hotel rooms I am thinking, how do you trash a hotel room anyway? What is up with rockstars and trashing hotel rooms?

No wonder Jennifer Aniston had issues. Last year she broke up with him because of his love affair with Twitter, which he decided to end anyway, leaving 3.5 millions followers behind.



Just two months ago, rumors were flying that Aniston and Mayer were getting back together but a friend of hers said it is not happening because John is a “dud” in bed. The friend said they were not compatible at all, and that John was a basket case.

Let me just tell you, he's extremely lucky that the promoter who paid his talent fee is currently engaged in Hong Kong—why, I can't blog, but if you see me, I'll whisper it to you.

I heard that he freaked out at the Sofitel, went down and complained to the hotel's manager—as if it were the guy's fault.

On Twitter, I received a tweet saying John Mayer had to pay a bill of PHP 300,000++ or US$8,000 for trashing the Presidential Suite of the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel.
Another tipster said Mayer had snubbed a kid/kids on a wheelchair and was kind to only one person here—Georgina Wilson.
Later this afternoon I learned that hotel management was already preparing an official statement re: the issue.
We speculated whether they would be releasing the billing statement of John Mayer's damages or something else.
And here's what we got.
All I can say is, the hotel is entitled to protect its reputation and its high-profile guests' privacy.
But what we heard from hotel sources does not match the letter.

Joining The Peninsula Hotels’ signature collection of exquisite 1930s Shanghainese Art Deco-inspired bars and lounges is Salon de Ning at The Peninsula Manila, set to open this December 3rd, 2010.
Inspired by an elegant private residence from a bygone era, Salon de Ning will be a clubby lounge reflecting the glamorous lifestyle of Madame Ning, a celebrated Shanghai socialite, bon vivant, world traveller and international hostess.



Upon arrival at Salon de Ning, guests will be greeted by a hostess in an elegant oriental dress, and led to the main lounge with a DJ booth and stage for the resident band.
Surrounding the main lounge will be four themed rooms decorated with Madame Ning’s intriguing collection of objets and items displaying her varied interests and pursuits.
The first room, “Le Boxing Room," will be a shrine to 1937 World Heavyweight Champion Joe Louis (who was rumored to have been madly in love with her).



The second room—the “Shoe Room”—with its collection of over a hundred boots, stilletos and sandals, will be her homage to shoemakers who transform ordinary footwear into works of wearable art.
Other themed rooms are the “Zeppelin Room” and “Shanghai”.
The former is inspired by her long friendship with the German Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin who pioneered the design of the first rigid airships the world had ever seen.



“Shanghai” will be a recreation of her mansion along the Bund—enticing dark wood interiors, oriental rugs, while Art Deco touches and sepia photographs line the walls.
It will be a stylish mélange of East meets West, the glamour and style of 1930s Shanghai—the “Paris of the East”.

A range of cocktails will be made available at Salon de Ning, including the signature “Ning Sling," a refreshing combination featuring Absolut Mandarin and lychee liqueur, garnished with mint leaves and a lychee.



Fans of bubbly will love Salon de Ning Rosé Champagne, an exclusive label created by Deutz of France for The Peninsula Hotels. A simple, light Asian-inspired menu will also be available.
Salon de Ning was designed by Henry Leung, the Hong Kong-based Design Director of Chhada, Siembieda Leung Limited, who has created several Chinese heritage projects for The Peninsula Hotels.

Finally and it's about time.
Genuine Singaporean Chicken Rice comes to Manila this October 29, 2010, when Wee Nam Kee opens at the Ayala Triangle Gardens on the corner of Paseo and Makati Avenue.
I'm gonna say goodbye to eating as much chicken rice as I can while in Singapore when the real things finally opens in Manila.

A Hainanese Chicken Rice set will cost PHP 170.



Can't wait to try their Roast Chicken Rice.

On Wednesday I'll be coming in to see the apparel as I'm styling for the opening this October 15th.
Friday morning the store opens for media, while evening is a private event for guests.
So I guess it's safe to say the store will open to the public on October 16th, Saturday.
Well I couldn't wait for Wednesday so Jeroen and I dropped by tonight after dinner at Cav.
The 500+ square-meter store will open on top of the Gap flagship store on Bonifacio High Street.



Behind the store, a truck carrying the signage was parked, waiting for the time to set it up.



Can't wait to go up these steps on Wednesday

Finally found time to pick out the winners for eight packs of baby Dove soaps.



Printed them out 660 entries, cut them out and alphabetized them so I could easily remove the duplicates.



These went into a box. As you can see, entries were printed on scratch paper.
