I knew it.
The minute I saw Lorna Tolentino's billboard on Edsa endorsing this Vuitton bag, I knew something was up.

First, they photoshopped her so much, she doesn't look like herself (almost looks like Ruffa).
Second, having covered Vuitton stories for Philstar, I knew na ayaw ng LVMH. Promise.
(Third, ayaw ni Mert & Marcus.)
It was just a matter of time before LVMH would react.
It gets worse. Promo says they're giving away one Speedy, which is a misrepresentation in itself, as the bag in the billboard is not a Speedy but a Tivoli GM.
So the promo was flawed to begin with, plus the idea that Vuitton gives "bulk" discounts is dense.
And so...
LV wants LT billboard down

For sure, you’ve heard about the much-desired promo of Flawless, where its clients (who will spend a minimum of P1,200 on products and services) will have a chance to win a Louis Vuitton bag during its monthly raffle draw starting this June until November. And in December, being its anniversary month, a one-karat diamond will be at stake.
This unique promo drew lots of interest among the ladies, it didn’t matter whether they were old clients or new ones. They all wanted that LV bag because it has actually become quite a status symbol already in the Philippines, if you know what we mean.
But much to the chagrin of Flawless promo organizers, Louis Vuitton headquarters in Asia got in touch with them last Tuesday and actually asked them to take down the billboard of this promo showing ageless and classic beauty Flawless endorser Ms. Lorna Tolentino (wearing a diamond necklace and brandishing an LV bag) mounted in Guadalupe, Makati. LV is looking at the Flawless promo ad as some sort of “unauthorized representation of their merchandise.”
A disappointed Rubby Sy, owner of Flawless, told us that when she, along with Flawless COO Tanya Quibilan, went to purchase five bags from Sales Associate Miles Ong at the LV Shop in Makati last month, the mood was totally different.
“That is why this action by the LV people caught us by surprise. Miles was very very excited to make the sale as he personally chose the five bags for us after we told him of the raffle we’re having as a promo effort of Flawless. He picked the bags, himself, based on the profile of Flawless customers. It didn’t at all occur to him that there are guidelines for a promo like this. The only thing we were looking at when we exchanged business cards was the possibility of obtaining a discount since we purchased in bulk and he knows we will be spending a lot on this campaign. Miles told us, he will give us a call after he spoke with his manager regarding the discount.”
The good news is that the promo is still on. Flawless clients and would-be clients (wanting to win the LV bags) can still have that chance. For this month of June, raffle draw will happen on July 5 and the lucky customer will have a chance to win an LV Speedy.
We asked Rubby one thing, would she rather have bought Hermes for the promo instead because of this issue? The always unassuming lady just replied with a smile.

P.S. According to their Flawless Facebook account promo is still on, with one slight alteration. The image was cropped to reveal only a hint of a Vuitton bag.
Kawawa naman si Lorna T. I'm sure she had no idea she was set up for embarrassment. Flawless should just give her all the bags they bought. Wa na promo.
