When I hear of bistecca, I think of an extra large bone-in steak with rock salt on top of it.
I haven't been eating much red meat lately, but today I really just wanted to be in good, funny company.
So when I saw Grace and Jiki tweeting about dinner tonight, I invited myself. What was supposed to be a girl's night out became dinner for seven when Jeroen decided to come along with his BFF Joris.
Bistecca just opened around two weeks ago at the Joya, Rockwell Center.
It's so good, I've been hearing much about it through Twitter mentions.
True enough it was packed this Saturday night. Good thing Grace is really good at reservations.
You can tell this restaurant was well though of, starting from the darling napkins with the nice logo
to the eco-friendly bottle chandeliers.
Grace went ahead and pre-ordered side dishes. The minute we arrived they were already raving about these cheesy noodles in a pot, which were Dutch-approved.
The second I put a truffle fry in my mouth, I knew I could never go back to McDonald's fries. I thought I died and went to heaven. I also ordered a second plate all for myself.
And then a third plate was ordered.
The waiter suggested we order two kinds of steak for sharing. I don't know what they're called but I think one was prime rib and the other was T-bone.
Here's the first steak
which was sliced. Note to self: order extra onions
The second steak was much bigger
and then sliced. (Note: the smaller steak is better. The bigger one's a bit dry.)

They give you three kinds of salt and four sauces
Here's the chef who did it.
Bistecca is on the street level, 22 Joya, Rockwell Center, Makati City
Call to reserve at 403-5231. Open daily from 11 AM - 2:30 PM and 6 PM - 11 PM
