It's about time

If you've lived in New York, gone to fashion school or Fashion Week or all of the above, chance are you've encountered Bill Cunningham in some way or form.
Long before The Sartorialist, Face Hunter, Fruits and Street magazine, and all those street style blogs ever came out, there was Bill Cunningham's "On The Street" in the New York Times.
I met him in New York during the first ever show I watched as a Parsons student—Zang Toi.
After the show Bill asked me what I thought, and I answered in the negative.
And he said, "No dear, there is always something to be learned in any show."
Award!
In 1992 I managed to steal a photo of Bill Cunningham after a show, when there were no tents yet, no shows at Bryant Park.

Bill Cunningham, c. 1992

I'm glad someone took time to honor Bill Cunningham, fashion legend like no other, in the blue parka and on his bike.
