Christine Dychiao, who writes for On The Radar and Manila Fashion Observer moved here three months ago with her baby and husband after living in New York for three years.
I'm just surprised how she's turned into a skinny supermom, who can open and close and maneuver a baby stroller in two seconds. #idol!
Christine wears HMG's Hitch T-shirt
I asked her to come with me to the newly opened Blackmarket at Orchard Central. I had previously been to Blackmarket at Jalan Pisang and wanted to see their second outlet.
Blackmarket feels close to home as one of its owners, Quincy Teofisto, is a Filipino living in Singapore for ten years now. As I see it, he has become one of the movers and shakers of Singapore's fashion industry.
Quincy (L) talks to a customer
Quincy tells me they opened a new branch because the first store was already "masikip" (crowded).
The raw and spare interiors were designed by Quincy, an all-around multi-tasking artist who does everything from web-based media design, videos, animation, and more.
This spacious store measures 2000 square feet with natural light coming in from Orchard Road.
In lieu of a stockroom, Blackmarket keeps its inventory inside these iconic bins.
Manila-based Proud Race happens to be the store's top-selling label.
My boys would love this wooden skeleton
I love this T-shirt with Hitler's brain.
Be back later. Must shower now!
