If you love House of Cards, February 28, 2015 is your day.
On a Saturday, beginning 4 PM, stay home because RTL CBS Asia Entertainment HD will air the latest 13 chapters (episodes) of its third season.
After the weekend watchathon, the series will air weekly every Wednesday at 9:55pm beginning March 4, 2015.
“As a TV network, we have taken a bold and unique step to air the complete series in the same way as it premieres in the US,” said Jonas Engwall, CEO, RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network. “We believe this will curb alternative and illegal sources for the series that historically have been used.”
“We are extremely happy to be able to bring all 13 chapters (episodes) of the latest season of House of Cards to audiences in the region on the same day the series is released in the US,” said Jennifer Batty, EVP Programming, RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network. “This shows our commitment to bringing programs as close to their original release dates as possible.”
House of Cards stars Kevin Spacey as President Francis Underwood in a one-hour political drama series that goes behind the curtain of power, sex, ambition, love, greed and corruption in modern Washington D.C.
Francis and his equally ambitious wife Claire, played by Robin Wright, stop at nothing to ensure their hold on power.
Developed and produced by Beau Willimon (The Ides of March), House of Cards has earned several accolades including Kevin Spacey’s most recent Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Television Drama, Robin Wright’s Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Television Drama, as well as Emmy Awards for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series, and Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series.
It was also honored as one of the American Film Institute’s TV Programs of the Year for 2013.
