I’ve always been a Megamall girl, even when it wasn’t chic to go there.
I was there when it opened in June 1991, as part of the media tour (I was a reporter at Daily Globe at that time).
I got to know the mall very well when I took a job at Flashcards at SM Megamall-A, which my sister used to own. It was in SM Megamall where I got to try Chicken Joy for the first time, early ’90s.
I have so many memories there and people would get shocked when I tell them I go to Megamall. Even more shocked that I know my way around.
But times have changed and SM Megamall just became the coolest mall in town, with the very first H&M store in the Philippines, the first Tim Ho Wan, and Crate & Barrel opening soon.
It house a three-storey Uniqlo and a huge Zara, apart from the skating rink, IMAX theater, and Director’s Cut Cinema on the 5th level. SM Megamall is simply the place to be.
Just the other day I spent a couple of hours at SM Department Store in search Christmas items and materials for three Christmas baskets I wanted to make.
I started at the basement of SM Department store and spotted this giant red Christmas ball (Php 430)
This wreath hanger (Php 250) I could’ve used four years ago when Fiori di M gave me this unique wreath
As a lover of Candy Crush, I’ve got my eye on these Christmas ornaments (Php 300-350 each)
Here’s a very popular gift everyone appreciates: SM gift cards at Php 500, 1000 or 2000 each
Tons of boxes and gift bags
Gift labels and money envelopes
Here’s what I ended up getting (for now): three small canvas caddies at Php 380 each
I went up to the first level to the candy section and went nuts choosing what goes in the basket
Okay I went overboard
I took these home and arranged them on the floor
I found three giant plastic bags I’ve been keeping (cause I’m a hoarder like that)
Put this in
Put the goodies in
Taped it, ribboned, and cut the plastic jaggedly
Et voila! Can’t wait to give these to the people in the office I have to thank. No need to wait for Christmas
