Before the word “supermodel” was ever coined (and I hate that word by the way), there were great beauties we looked up to in the ’80s. One of them was Ines de la Fressange.

At that time we knew her to be the muse of Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld—and one doesn’t become muse just by looks alone. Aside from being naturally tall, skinny, and beautiful, Ines also happens to be an aristocrat (her father is the Marquis de La Fressange) with an innate sense of style.

Following the success of her first collaboration with UNIQLO last Spring/Summer 2014, a second and bigger collection was recently launched for Fall/Winter 2014.

Said Ines de la Fressange: “I try to take the position of women today, and take into account such factors as closet space and budget. No one can live surrounded by unlimited clothing. Having many items is not necessarily a good thing, and it’s important to have ‘good clothes.’

The point I wanted to express with the new collection is that even without a detailed fashion knowledge, women can find something beautiful to wear. They can have a full wardrobe. The Fall/Winter collection is even better than I expected, and I’m extremely pleased with the elegant line,” she said.

The collection features smartly cut shirts, the classic trench and casual cashmeres, chic trousers, the elegant tuxedo jacket, and simple silk dresses. Each piece translates easily from day to night and is a great addition to any working woman’s wardrobe.

About Ines de La Fressange

Born in France into an aristocratic family, Ines de la Fressange grew to be a fashion model, becoming Chanel’s star model from 1983 to 1990, and the muse of designer Karl Lagerfeld. In 1989 she was chosen by the French government as the likeness for a bust of Marianne, the symbol of the French Republic.

Today Ines is active as a designer, journalist, author, and fashion consultant, and in 2010 was selected as a member of L’Oréal’s “Dream Team.” Her book Parisian Chic has been translated into 17 languages, with more than a million copies sold worldwide.

In 2013 Ines re-launched her own brand, INES DE LA FRESSANGE PARIS, and is closely involved as creative director. The luxury lifestyle brand includes a wide range of products to create a truly Parisian style, from ready-to-wear apparel to interior decorations.
