Gift Guide #7: Quirks

Only two weeks before Christmas, and how are you doing with your shopping?
I’m nearly done! Just waiting for my stuff from Johnny Air, while a few other things can be bought in Manila.
Finding cool things in Manila is nowhere as easy as, say, Hong Kong or Japan.
So I’m happy to share whenever I find something cool cause we need to support!

One of my favorite shops in Manila is a mini-wasteland called QUIRKS. I usually pass by the Shangri-La kiosk or the little hole in the wall at Rockwell, if I’m in the area.
I heard they’ve opened a real store at SM Megamall-A but I’ve yet to see it.
Good thing they now have an online store because traffic is no joke in Metro Manila.
Some of the cool things I’ve found are:

The Gay Bar I hoarded for friends (“Perfect for booking,” said one of them.)

I have a couple of J-ME tape dispensers at home

The undercover iPad case makes your gadgets less attractive to thieves (also comes in laptop sizes)

I love: Dynomighty tech cases and wallets (also less attractive to thieves)

This is the cutest thing: Dynomighty Manila wallet (special collaboration with Punchdrunk Panda)

The food tin is perfect for office people who hide food inside their desks (or “dieters” who hide food under their beds)

I adore shopping carts of various sizes

And the homeless cup wallet, which reminds me of the New York years

The color-coded chopping boards for the O.C. mom

For my sister who loves to doodle on napkins

The chalkboard mini crate (write on its side)

The recycle bin desk organizer

And more! I’m really glad someone has started a wasteland in Manila. I’ve known QUIRKS since the beginning. Back then the selection wasn’t so great, but now it’s starting to get interesting.
