“Bright star” is a textile created by Milanese designer Luisa Cevese for Comme des Garçons, which combines black polyurethane and tiny aluminium stars.
They are handmade in Italy in a sustainable production environment, where human beings, not machines, are involved in the manufacturing process. For that reason each piece is unique—similar but not identical.
Polyurethane is a unique material that offers the elasticity of rubber combined with the toughness and durability of metal. Like silk and leather, expect this special material to change over time from use, lack of use, or exposure to elements.
The Bright Stars collection is available at Comme des Garçons, One Rockwell Tower, Makati.
