Last Wednesday we dropped by Ronac Art Center’s Secret Fresh Gallery to view the customized Bototoys for breast cancer awareness.
It’s been a while since I’ve gone out so I’ve been rusty with my picture-taking.
Some of the Bototoys I liked were Rita Nazareno’s hand woven creation.
Rita, a breast cancer survivor, drew mastectomy scars on her Bototoy.
It took only one day to weave this. Check out the backpack.
Rita’s family owns the Vizcarra label, known for their handwoven products. (Sold to Jeroen van Straten)
Noel Cruz’s work reminds me of Christopher Nemeth patterns
Bea Valdes’ Beaded Bayanihan
Nikki Luna’s neon heart (sold to Kat Holigores)
My work is so grade school. My son Christian called it “Sexy Girl.” (Sold to Big Boy Cheng—thank You Lord!!)
Part of the proceeds that evening will benefit the I Can Serve Foundation.
L-R: Breast cancer survivors Sheila Cruz, Crisann Celdran, Kara Alikpala and Nikoy de Guzman
Marco Lobregat of Ministry of Mushrooms hosted the event.
