You may have seen his extra large vinyl toys while in Hong Kong or Japan—those giant creatures that are part Grey’s Anatomy and part Mickey Mouse.

Behind these modern art pieces is Brian Donnelly, a.k.a. KAWS, the New York based artist known for limited edition toys and graffiti art all over the world.
KAWS started out as a graffiti artist in Jersey City, New Jersey. After graduating from the School of Visual Arts in New York, he worked briefly as a freelance animator at Disney, before he became known for subverting imagery on billboards, bus shelters and phone booth advertisements.
In the late ’90s he started to produce limited edition vinyl toys that became an instant hit among global art toy collectors, especially in Japan.
He has collaborated with Nigo for Bathing Ape, Jun Takahashi for Undercover, and Comme des Garçons among others.
This Saturday, Ronac Art Center launches the limited edition Kaws x Hennessy V.S. Cognac bottles in Manila.
Celebrate with Hennessy on March 3, 2012 at 7 PM as they officially release the last of the KAWS-designed Hennessy bottles, for sale exclusively at Secret Fresh in Ronac Art Center (Php 1,800).
