I’m not a fan, but I feel bad upon learning how Whitney Houston may have died. It appears she was taking Xanax and alcohol, fell asleep in the bathtub and drowned.
Having taken Xanax or Xanor years ago, I know how convenient it is to take a pill during anxiety attacks (or in my case during a flight). I had to stop taking it because it became too convenient to pop a pill just to be able to stop thinking at night and fall asleep.
It’s when one is alone with one’s thoughts and everyone is asleep, that it becomes hard to fall asleep and medication helps.
That’s why I find it easier to nap in the afternoons, especially during the Corona trial when people are up and busy around the house. It just feels safer with sound and activity and daylight.
Well, now, I have downloads, I can make myself sleepy by watching them till I fall asleep. That or by looking at various shopping sites.
The thing is, when you’re in the depths of despair, you shouldn’t be alone. You need to be able to talk to someone who is awake and will listen. Or you can take a mild sleeping pill (with no alcohol) just to get you through the night if no one is available.
If it gets really bad, wake up someone who cares and and let them know there is a problem, if you think you may have taken the wrong combination of pills, tell someone so they can watch over you.
I know many of these deaths are accidental because I know how prescription drugs work and one needs to be really careful when taking them and one should never go their journey alone.
That said, I’m sleepy and going to bed.
RIP Whitney Houston.
From TMZ: WHITNEY HOUSTON Taking Xanax
Whitney Houston was taking Xanax … evidence she may have fallen asleep in the bathtub where she died … TMZ has learned.
Family members of Whitney tell us the singer had a prescription for the drug, which is commonly used to treat anxiety and depression.
We told you yesterday … the night before Whitney died, she had been drinking a lot. Xanax mixed with alcohol can cause severe sedation, which could cause someone to fall asleep in a bathtub.
As TMZ first reported, Whitney was found in the bathtub and removed before EMTs arrived. The L.A. County Coroner will perform an autopsy — possibly today — to determine if Whitney died from drowning, and OD or other causes.
As we previously reported, Beverly Hills cops obtained a search warrant and found various prescription bottles – but, as far as we know, no illicit drugs.
